This infographic design introduces the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival game of Bo Bing (also known as "Moon-Cake Gambling"), a beloved custom from Xiamen, China. Originating during the Qing Dynasty, Bo Bing uses six dice and a bowl, where players compete in rounds to win prizes based on specific dice combinations.
The infographic not only explains the game's setup, rules, and ranking system with clear visuals but also highlights its historical and cultural significance as a tradition that fosters social connections and family bonding.
This project is especially meaningful to me because Bo Bing is a cherished part of my childhood, playing every Mid-Autumn Festival with my family and friends, creating unforgettable memories of my hometown.
My motivation for creating this infographic is to introduce more people to Bo Bing, encourage them to play, and celebrate this tradition with me every year! I also love sharing this game with those who have similar cultural backgrounds, as the Mid-Autumn Festival coincides with Chuseok in Korea, a holiday that similarly emphasizes family reunion and connection.
